About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform hardware safety analyses including DFMEAs to comply with ISO 26262
  • Perform fault tree analysis (FTAs) and assess reliability
  • Develop technical safety requirements for the Kodiak Autonomy System
  • Allocate technical safety requirements to hardware components
  • Participate in hardware safety unit design and implementation
  • Develop test plans, procedures, and verification reports at hardware unit and integration levels
  • Support hardware-software interface development and derive safety measures
  • Support supplier management activities
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to review work products for ISO 26262 compliance

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in hardware, electrical, mechanical, or related engineering
  • Experience with ISO 26262 (specifically Parts 4, 5, 8, and 9)
  • Experience developing work products for safety critical systems and DFMEAs
  • Experience with system and hardware level verification and validation of autonomous vehicles
  • Knowledge of functional safety standards such as SOTIF and UL4600
  • Knowledge of hardware configuration management and quality assurance
