About the Company

Onyx is the open source GenAI platform connected to your company's docs, apps, and people. We ingest and sync from all sources of information to provide a centralized place for users to ask about anything. We raised a $10M seed coming out of YCombinator, backed by Khosla Ventures and First Round Capital.

Responsibilities

• Build a consumer grade UI experience for GenAI Chat, Enterprise Search, Agents, and Admin features
• Extend backend functionalities and APIs
• Improve search pipeline flexibility, quality, and semantic understanding of customer organizations
• Implement latest NLP research approaches like LLM based Knowledge Graphs and StructRAG
• Own the entire development cycle of new features from conception to production
• Collaborate with founders to shape product direction and engineering strategy

Requirements

• 1-5+ years of software engineering experience building real-world applications
• Proficiency in TypeScript, React, and NextJS
• Proficiency in Python
• Experience with Relational Databases (Postgres)
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work in a fast-moving startup environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Experience or interest in AI, NLP, Deep Learning, or information retrieval
• Previous experience as a founder or early engineer at a seed/series-A startup
