About the Company

At Layer, we’re building a new kind of accounting software and bookkeeping that lives within the existing software tools SMBs use every day. Our platform allows software companies to quickly launch modern accounting software and bookkeeping services to their SMB customers, eliminating the need for them to use legacy accounting tools or bookkeepers.

Responsibilities

• Build best-in-class products from first principles and customer needs
• Navigate competing priorities and tradeoffs using company goals
• Take ownership in product and team decisions
• Contribute to technical and business problem-solving
• Support and improve the strengths of teammates

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience on strong software teams
• Experience building new products from scratch
• Track record of growth in team leadership
• Broad technical competence across the stack

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Kotlin, React, or Ktor
• Familiarity with Postgres, RDS, or containerized services
• Interest in learning accounting principles
