Full Stack Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Engineering ownership of fireworks.ai from the user interface down to the API and data layer
• Design, develop, and test responsive, performant web applications and scalable backend services
• Mentor and support a team of full stack, frontend, and backend engineers through code reviews and coaching
• Define and implement full stack architectural standards, API design, and database schemas
• Partner with Product, Design, and Core AI/Infrastructure Engineering to align on system design and delivery
• Build and maintain reusable, scalable frontend component libraries
• Champion application performance, security, data integrity, and accessibility

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
• 6+ years of professional experience in full stack software development
• 2+ years of experience in a technical leadership role
• Strong expertise in React, TypeScript, JavaScript, and Next.js
• Strong expertise in building server-side applications and designing RESTful or GraphQL APIs
• Proficiency in modern backend languages such as Node.js, Python, or Go
• Solid understanding of database systems (SQL/NoSQL) and caching strategies
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or OCI), Docker, and CI/CD pipelines

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in AI/ML-focused environments or interacting with LLM APIs and vector databases
• Experience with model orchestration tools like LangChain or LlamaIndex
• Prior startup experience as a technical founder or early engineer
• Experience building developer platforms, SaaS dashboards, or interactive playgrounds
• Contributions to open-source projects or internal component libraries
