About the role
Responsibilities
- Drive the design and implementation of scalable, high performing and robust applications
- Proactively manage changes in project scope and identify potential issues
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers through code reviews
- Identify scalability, performance, or security issues within teams
- Analyze and discuss potential risks and benefits of technology solutions to address business requirements
- Consult with internal business groups to provide high-level application software development services
Requirements
- 10-12 years of experience in software development
- At least 7 years of experience in financial services with high volume trading systems
- At least 1 year as a Ruby Full Stack Developer
- Experience with Docker
- At least 3 years of experience with agile software development methodologies
- At least 1 year of messaging development experience with Rabbit MQ or IBM MQ
- Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the securities or financial services industry
- Proficiency with Ruby, Rails, Active Records, RSpec, and Cucumber
- Experience with Postgres, Oracle, IBM WMQ, or Kafka
- Experience with AngularJS, React, and Bootstrap CSS
