Full-stack Engineer

MAI is on a mission to democratize advanced advertising technology. Founded by ad platform veterans from Google and Instacart, the company uses AI agents to automate and optimize performance marketing for small and mid-sized businesses. Having raised a $25 million Seed round led by Kleiner Perkins, MAI is scaling its product and engineering teams to bring intelligent, autonomous marketing to life.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement RESTful APIs using FastAPI and Pydantic schemas
• Build and maintain React/TypeScript frontends with Zustand, TanStack Query, and Tailwind CSS
• Work with Django ORM and PostgreSQL for complex multi-tenant data modeling
• Write and maintain frontend and backend unit tests
• Collaborate on infrastructure using Docker, GCP, Terraform, and GitHub Actions
• Perform data operations including SQL migrations and debugging data inconsistencies

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience building fullstack web applications
• Strong proficiency in Python (FastAPI, Django ORM, Pydantic)
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and React
• Solid understanding of relational databases and PostgreSQL schema design
• Experience with REST API design and versioning
• Ability to reason about multi-tenant data isolation

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with GCP services (Cloud Run, GKE)
• Familiarity with Terraform
• Experience with ad tech or marketing platforms (Google Ads API, Meta Marketing API)
• Exposure to AI/ML product development
• Experience with sandbox or code execution environments
• Familiarity with Python tooling like Poetry, Ruff, or Mypy
