About the role
Responsibilities
- Monitor material availability, manage replenishment signals, and advise on potential shortages to ensure smooth manufacturing flow.
- Utilize MRP systems to analyze inventory needs, ensure timely replenishment, and reduce excess stock.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, conducting performance reviews and managing open order and shortage reports.
- Coordinate with transportation teams to track shipment status and ensure timely deliveries to receiving.
- Analyze inventory data and supplier performance metrics to identify trends and recommend improvements.
- Resolve discrepancies in the Discrepant Material Report (DMR) by tracking root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Collaborate with production, quality, and sales teams to align material supply with operational requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of scheduling or planning experience in a manufacturing environment, OR an Associate's degree and 5+ years of experience.
- Strong understanding of MRP systems and processes.
- Proven experience in supplier relationship management.
- Excellent analytical skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and inventory management software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with inventory forecasting and developing supplier schedules.
- Experience reducing scheduling variances.
- APICS certification or willingness to obtain.
