About the Company

Open Door Legal (ODL) is pioneering the country’s first system of universal access to civil legal representation to dramatically reduce poverty. We are an award-winning legal aid organization dedicated to ensuring justice for all.

Responsibilities

• Cover the front desk Monday through Friday at the Sunset office location
• Assist guests with accessing services, scheduling appointments, and gathering documents in a trauma-informed manner
• Manage information flow including phones, email, voicemail, text, and physical mail
• Provide Cantonese interpretation for intakes and coordinate with Cantonese-speaking staff
• Maintain referral relationships with Community-Based Organizations serving the AAPI community
• Design new policies and systems for office effectiveness

Requirements

• Bilingual in Cantonese
• Experience working in an office environment
• Highly functional computer and typing skills (45+ WPM)
• Ability to work onsite in San Francisco 5 days a week
• Ability to work with community members experiencing trauma or mental health conditions
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with low-income and vulnerable populations
• Experience with Salesforce
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in social work or a similar field
• Experience working with individuals with mental illness or substance use disorders
• Local resident of West Side San Francisco neighborhoods
