Frontend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Build and ship high-quality product experiences across web surfaces for ChatGPT
• Partner with design and product teams to translate ideas into polished, accessible UI
• Own frontend architecture decisions, including component systems, state management, and routing
• Improve reliability, observability, and quality through testing, monitoring, and tooling
• Collaborate with backend and data teams to integrate APIs and deliver end-to-end features
• Contribute to long-term technical direction and participate in architecture reviews

Requirements

• Strong frontend experience with modern web frameworks such as React and TypeScript
• Proven track record of building and maintaining production UI at scale
• Deep understanding of frontend architecture and state management
• High attention to detail regarding performance, accessibility, and craft
• Ability to thrive in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment while maintaining a high quality bar
