About the Company

General Medicine is building a healthcare store that makes it delightfully simple to shop for any type of care, providing upfront cash and insurance prices for virtual and in-person visits, prescriptions, labs, and imaging.

Responsibilities

  • Own major surfaces of the Next.js application including search, scheduling, provider profiles, and checkout
  • Collaborate closely with design to implement high-quality UI interactions and micro-details
  • Make pragmatic frontend architecture decisions regarding component patterns, state management, and data fetching
  • Optimize web applications for performance, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility
  • Work across the stack when necessary, including interacting with a Ruby on Rails backend
  • Participate in product requirements documentation, SQL data analysis, and QA processes

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience building production web applications with React
  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript and modern React patterns (server components, hooks, data fetching)
  • Experience with Next.js or similar frameworks (routing, SSR/SSG, API routes, caching)
  • Strong eye for UI/UX quality and attention to detail
  • Experience with frontend performance optimization and accessibility
  • Comfort working with RESTful APIs and backend data models

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Ruby on Rails and Postgres
  • Experience in the healthcare industry
