About the role

Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact to deliver a world-class Total Patient Experience
  • Provide exceptional customer service in person and via phone
  • Greet patients promptly and manage professional office interactions
  • Answer internal and external phone calls with courtesy and urgency
  • Verify insurance authorizations and build accurate flow sheets
  • Process patient check-outs and collect payments according to procedures
  • Manage patient flow to maximize office efficiency
  • Perform daily reconciliations, end-of-day closing, and cash drawer counts
  • Comply with all company policies and HIPAA regulations
  • Perform general office duties and cleaning as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year in a customer or patient-facing role
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to pass a state-required background check
  • Ability to provide proof of identity and right to work in the US
  • Physical ability to walk, sit, stand, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous medical office experience
  • Previous ophthalmic experience
