About the role
Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact to provide a world-class Total Patient Experience
- Greet patients promptly and provide exceptional customer service in person and via phone
- Manage patient flow and office communication to maximize efficiency
- Answer internal and external phone calls with courtesy and urgency
- Verify insurance authorizations and build accurate flow sheets
- Process patient check-outs and collect payments according to established procedures
- Perform daily reconciliations, including closing the day and counting the cash drawer
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and HIPAA regulations
- Assist with general office duties and cleaning as assigned by management
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a customer service or patient-facing role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Ability to pass a background check as required by the state
- Ability to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a medical office setting
- Previous experience in an ophthalmic clinical environment
