About the role
Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact to deliver a world-class Total Patient Experience
- Provide exceptional customer service in person and via telephone
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes to ensure smooth clinical flow
- Answer internal and external phone calls with prompt and courteous service
- Verify insurance authorizations and build accurate flow sheets
- Collect patient payments and perform daily cash drawer reconciliations
- Maintain office efficiency by managing patient flow and communicating with clinical staff
- Comply with all company policies and HIPAA regulations
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a customer service or patient-facing role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Ability to pass a background check as required by the state
- Ability to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a medical office setting
- Prior experience in an ophthalmic or eye care environment
