About the role

Responsibilities

  • Manage front desk operations, including welcoming visitors and handling phone and email inquiries.
  • Provide basic immigration and study abroad information to international students and scholars.
  • Serve as a Designated School Official (DSO) to issue or sign visa documents.
  • Process immigration document requests, conduct database checks, and distribute cases to appropriate staff.
  • Manage incoming and outbound mail, specifically handling sensitive immigration documents from Homeland Security.
  • Provide general administrative support to OIE staff, including assisting with immigration reporting and office equipment maintenance.
  • Maintain the orderliness of the reception area and manage appointment scheduling.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 5-8 years of administrative support experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and various computer applications.
  • US citizenship or permanent residence.
  • Ability to pass a successful background check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience working in a Higher Education setting.
  • Experience working with databases.
