French Language Teacher

District of Columbia International School (DCI) is a public charter school serving over 1600 racially and economically diverse students in grades 6-12. DCI’s education centers on an International Baccalaureate curriculum, advanced language learning in Chinese, Spanish, and French, and a culture focused on student agency supported by 1:1 technology.

Responsibilities

• Provide IB French education to students using immersion methods
• Plan curriculum using the IB DP Language curriculum framework
• Advise students through an advisory class using the school's curriculum
• Proactively manage the classroom learning environment
• Collaborate with general and special educators, coordinators, and leadership
• Infuse technology into instruction via the 1:1 Chromebooks program
• Participate in cultural activities for faculty and students

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• Bilingual and biliterate in French
• Ability to clear a background check
• Strong written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in secondary education or the content area
• Previous experience teaching MYP/DP French (Language A or B)
• Experience with AP and Honors courses
• Proficiency with G-Suite tools
• Knowledge of Spanish and French languages
