Freedom School Instructor

Responsibilities

• Deliver seasonal STEM education experiences for youth and family audiences onsite, offsite, or virtually
• Facilitate participatory learning experiences that center equity and are inclusive, engaging, and educational
• Collaborate with STEM Freedom School staff and leadership to support and improve program delivery
• Implement diversity, equity, access, and inclusion strategies when working with learners from diverse backgrounds and those with special needs
• Mentor Servant Leader Interns (SLI) and participate in ongoing professional development
• Maintain educational materials, equipment, classrooms, and shared resources
• Represent the museum professionally when communicating with youth scholars and external stakeholders

Requirements

• Experience facilitating informal or formal learning experiences for a range of audiences
• Knowledge of STEM equity and inclusion best practices
• Demonstrated knowledge of STEM trends, practices, and academic standards
• Experience working with diverse communities and demonstrating cultural competency
• Ability to work in various settings, including indoors in classrooms and outdoors in all climate types
• Ability to provide leadership and guidance to youth staff
