About the role

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage the delivery of multiple ongoing projects up to £10 million in value
  • Undertake Principal Contractor responsibilities in accordance with CDM 2015 regulations
  • Lead the implementation of Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental (HSQE) procedures
  • Conduct regular health and safety site inspections and promote a proactive safety culture
  • Manage overall project programmes, ensuring timely and efficient delivery
  • Oversee commercial aspects including budget management, cost control, and target margins
  • Provide line management to Site Managers, Engineers, and Site Foremen
  • Coordinate and manage supply chain partners and resolve performance issues
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders
  • Chair project meetings and manage change control and client expectations
  • Collaborate with designers to develop practical, cost-effective solutions
  • Mentor and support the professional development of project delivery teams
  • Ensure all necessary method statements and risk assessments are maintained
  • Plan and secure resources and materials to meet delivery schedules

Requirements

  • Degree, HND, or HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Project Manager role within the water industry
  • SMSTS (CITB) certification
  • CSCS (Manager Level) card
  • CDM Awareness
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial management

Preferred Qualifications

  • APM PMQ or equivalent project management qualification
  • NEBOSH or IOSH Managing Safely
  • Temporary Works Coordinator certification
  • Proficient in MS Project or similar planning tools
  • SEATS or Environmental Management training
