FPGA Prototyping Staff Applications Engineer

Responsibilities

• Validate advanced HAPS prototyping features using large, complex customer SoC designs to ensure performance and functional correctness.
• Debug and resolve intricate design and prototyping issues, including RTL synthesis bottlenecks and inter-FPGA communication failures.
• Define and refine technical requirements for HAPS prototyping flows by translating field insights into actionable product improvements.
• Collaborate with global Applications Engineering and Product Validation teams to troubleshoot escalations and ensure seamless customer deployments.
• Build and optimize automation scripts in Python and Tcl to streamline validation workflows and improve test coverage.
• Provide technical leadership during customer engagements, offering strategic recommendations on partitioning strategies and debug methodologies.

Requirements

• 6+ years of hands-on experience in FPGA-based prototyping, FPGA design, or hardware validation with large SoC designs.
• Strong proficiency in Verilog and SystemVerilog, including deep understanding of RTL design, synthesis, and simulation.
• Practical experience with HAPS or ZeBu prototyping platforms, including partitioning, mapping, and deployment workflows.
• Solid scripting skills in Python and Tcl for automation and flow development.
• Proven ability to debug complex hardware and RTL issues using waveform viewers, logic analyzers, and FPGA vendor debug utilities.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ARM bus architectures or industry-standard protocols such as USB, PCIe, SATA, or DDR.
• Familiarity with modern FPGA architectures from vendors like Xilinx or Intel.
