Founding Web Platform Engineer

Responsibilities

• Build the Design System and Component Library, defining tokens, primitives, and patterns
• Create frontend platform primitives including app shell, routing conventions, and typed API clients
• Partner with product and engineering teams to design intuitive, well-documented APIs and components
• Own build, performance, and client observability, including Next.js build pipelines and Core Web Vitals
• Set long-term frontend platform direction and architecture decisions

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building production web applications
• Experience owning a design system, component library, or core frontend abstraction
• Deep fluency in React and TypeScript
• Strong Next.js experience including App Router, RSC, and rendering tradeoffs
• Proven ability to design component APIs, hooks, and contracts for rapid product iteration
• Experience with frontend performance and observability tools like Sentry or Datadog
• Strong ownership mentality focused on developer experience and long-term leverage
