Founding Senior HR Generalist/People Operations Lead

Responsibilities

• Own the full employee lifecycle including onboarding, role changes, and offboarding
• Maintain employment documentation, offer letters, and employment agreements
• Ensure HRIS (Rippling) data is clean and up-to-date
• Apply California employment law to guide HR decisions and workplace requirements
• Handle employee transitions, terminations, and severance with care and judgment
• Manage benefits administration and relationships with brokers and providers
• Partner with Finance on payroll accuracy and compliance
• Build and document scalable HR workflows and processes

Requirements

• 4-7 years of HR experience
• Experience as an early or first HR hire in a venture-backed startup
• Deep familiarity with HRIS systems (Rippling preferred)
• Experience supporting teams in California and knowledge of CA employment law
• Experience handling employee transitions and terminations
• Strong understanding of payroll fundamentals

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building performance management processes
• Exposure to manager enablement, engagement, or culture programs
• Experience with multi-state or rapidly scaling companies
