Founding iOS Engineer

Responsibilities

• Build and own the Overtone iOS app, focusing on voice-first and AI-driven experiences
• Partner with product, design, and engineering to ship complex, effortless interfaces
• Set the iOS engineering culture, including architecture, build/release discipline, and code quality
• Shape mobile strategy as the team and platform scale

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience building high-quality iOS applications
• 3+ years of experience owning the end-to-end lifecycle of a production iOS app
• Proven technical leadership in shipping apps and navigating App Store pipelines
• Expertise in UI engineering, performance optimization, and latency elimination
• Deep experience with iOS architecture, test strategies, and modern UI patterns
• High judgment regarding performance, security, and reliability in consumer products

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with real-time communications (WebRTC, WebSockets, audio codecs)
• Experience integrating LLMs and AI features into client-side applications
• Experience building complex, custom UIs outside of standard SDK paths
• Knowledge of on-device ML, Metal, or graphics/shader work
• Early-stage startup experience or background in dating/social products
