Founding Forward Deployed Engineer

Responsibilities

• Discover and build Glean's next product surfaces through 0-to-1 product creation
• Lead deep opportunity discovery to identify unsolved business problems at strategic customers
• Act as a technical partner to C-suite executives, earning trust and explaining technical risks
• Scale successful solutions by working with the core R&D team to ensure scalability
• Stay at the frontier of AI by collaborating with core engineering and product teams

Requirements

• 4+ years in technical roles with a track record of shipping production software
• Proven 0-to-1 build track record in ambiguous environments
• Experience shipping production AI-powered solutions (prompt engineering, agent development, etc.)
• Full-stack technical depth and strong programming skills
• Strong business acumen and ability to connect technical diagnosis to product hypotheses
• Ability to travel 25–50%
• Hybrid availability for 3-4 days a week in the NYC office

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as a founder or in a forward deployed engineering role
• Technical degree in CS, engineering, math, or a related field
• Deep familiarity with LLMs, retrieval systems, and evaluation frameworks
• Experience driving technology adoption inside large enterprises
