Having recently raised a $61M Series A, Giga works with Fortune 500 companies like DoorDash to deploy voice, chat, and email automation that can understand emotion and resolve issues instantly.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Toronto site and hire an elite engineering team from scratch
• Drive technical initiatives and system architecture decisions to ensure scalability and reliability
• Own ambiguous, high-stakes projects and identify technical gaps before they become problems
• Set engineering standards for code review, system design, and operational excellence
• Mentor engineers through both formal management and hands-on collaboration
• Write code and ship products while maintaining a high-level technical strategy

Requirements

• 8+ years of engineering experience with a track record of leading complex projects
• Proven experience hiring engineering teams from the ground up
• Ability to turn vague problems into clear technical approaches
• Experience building and scaling high-growth systems
• Strong coding skills and ability to maintain high standards without becoming a bottleneck
• Comfort with uncertainty and a desire to be hands-on in a leadership role

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Python (Django/FastAPI) and TypeScript (Node.js)
• Proficiency with AWS, Kubernetes, and Postgres
• Experience with Next.js and frontend technologies
