Founding Engineer

About the Company

At Applied Labs, we’re building the platform for reliable AI agents that automate complex work. We are an early team from Harvard, MIT, Gemini, and Meta, experiencing 10x growth in 4 months.

Responsibilities

• Own core agent systems from idea to production including orchestration, tool-use, planning, memory, and evals
• Architect for reliability by designing agent loops and guardrails for real-world edge cases
• Ship fast and iterate weekly through experiments and outcome measurement
• Collaborate tightly with founders in NYC to set product direction, quality bars, and engineering culture
• Set the engineering blueprint through design decisions, documentation, and code style

Requirements

• Experience shipping production systems end-to-end
• Deep focus on reliability, including tests, evals, and metrics
• Product-minded approach to building simple, effective solutions
• Preference for in-person collaboration and fast decision cycles
• Ability to work onsite in New York City
