Founding Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and build Jinba's design system including components, tokens, patterns, and documentation
• Own UI/UX for core product surfaces from concept through implementation
• Create motion design to guide users through workflow creation and execution
• Write clean, maintainable frontend code using React and shadcn/ui
• Collaborate directly with engineering to ship features
• Establish design processes and standards as the first dedicated design hire

Requirements

• Strong product design sense with a portfolio showing end-to-end ownership
• Experience building or contributing to a design system
• Motion design ability including understanding of timing and easing
• Proficiency in React and TypeScript
• Familiarity with component libraries like shadcn/ui or Radix
• Understanding of design tokens, CSS architecture, and scalable frontend patterns
• Experience with developer tools, no-code platforms, or workflow/automation products
• Ability to design complex interfaces like canvas editors or drag-and-drop builders
