Founding Data Engineer

About the Company

FLORA is building the first creative operating system: an infinite canvas designed for the generative computing paradigm. Backed by tier-one investors including Redpoint, Menlo Ventures, and a16z, the platform is used by world-class creative powerhouses like Pentagram, Lionsgate, and Nike.

Responsibilities

• Audit existing PostHog data, events, and user behaviors
• Design and implement data models with solid metadata collection
• Stand up data infrastructure, warehousing, and processing pipelines
• Evaluate and select core technologies
• Build executive-level BI dashboards that drive product and growth decisions
• Design tracking models and collaborate with growth engineering for instrumentation

Requirements

• 6+ years in data engineering or analytics engineering
• Deep SQL fluency
• Strong fundamentals in at least one modern data platform (Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, ClickHouse, MotherDuck, etc.)
• Hands-on infrastructure experience setting up pipelines and defining schemas
• Proven ability to work independently as a first data hire
• Strong product instincts and business curiosity
• Ability to work in-person 5 days a week in New York City

Preferred Qualifications

• Python proficiency
• TypeScript experience
• Deep PostHog experience (cohorts, funnels, feature flags, warehouse sync)
• Experience with activation models, conversion rate analysis, and A/B testing
• Background in SaaS/web app analytics or product-led growth companies
