Founding Applied Research Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and run research programs focused on cost-efficient inference, signal classification, personalization grounding, and sequencing policy
• Build evaluation frameworks that measure trajectory quality and path-based performance
• Work on agent memory, retrieval, and context systems
• Translate research findings into production infrastructure with measurable impact

Requirements

• Experience thinking about agent failure modes in practice rather than just benchmarks
• Ability to build evaluation systems and implement research ideas through code
• Experience with agent evaluation and behavioral benchmarking
• Knowledge of retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and knowledge graph systems
• Experience with RL applied to real-world agent behavior
• Familiarity with production ML systems including latency, reliability, and observability
• Experience with post-training and model adaptation for production use cases
• Ability to move fast in a continuous shipping environment
