Forward Deployed Senior Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable migration tooling, scripts, and automation frameworks to accelerate customer onboarding.
• Build reusable components to migrate workflows, jobs, dependencies, and configurations from legacy systems to the Redwood platform.
• Partner with Migration Architects to translate complex migration strategies into executable technical frameworks.
• Identify migration bottlenecks and develop technical solutions to streamline data transformation and validation.
• Support Professional Services during high-impact migration engagements and troubleshoot production edge cases.
• Provide structured feedback to Product and Core Engineering teams to improve platform migration capabilities.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code with comprehensive automated testing.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong expertise in Java (version 11 or 17+).
• Proven experience building backend services, APIs, and automation tooling.
• Proficiency with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Experience with XML and JSON data formats and libraries like Jackson or Lombok.
• Hands-on experience with containerization using Docker.
• Strong testing skills using JUnit, AssertJ, and Mockito.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI).
• Proficiency in scripting and build tools like Shell and Gradle.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience migrating enterprise systems or legacy schedulers to modern SaaS platforms.
• Background in automation, workload scheduling, or ERP environments.
• Knowledge of SAP (ABAP, HANA).
• Experience in customer-facing or forward-deployed engineering roles.
• Familiarity with AI-driven automation use cases.
