About the Company

Harper is an AI-native commercial insurance company in San Francisco. We're rebuilding the entire business as software, turning expert human judgment into compute to transform a trillion-dollar industry.

Responsibilities

• Find leverage by sitting with operators to surface automation opportunities
• Run the operation including underwriter follow-ups, carrier communications, and customer calls
• Build fast by prototyping AI agents, internal tools, and workflow automations
• Instrument everything using SQL and dashboards to prove business impact
• Shape product requirements by translating operational pain into technical specs
• Context-switch across functions to address urgent business needs

Requirements

• 2–4 years in a high-pace environment (startup, operations, consulting, or engineering)
• Track record of building and shipping internal tools, automations, or workflows
• Proficiency in SQL and at least one of Python or TypeScript
• Hands-on experience with AI coding tools like Cursor or Claude Code
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Based in San Francisco or willing to relocate immediately

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with LLMs, AI agents, or voice AI
• Background in insurance, fintech, or regulated industries
• Prior startup or founder experience
• Experience in solutions engineering, operations, or customer success
