Forward Deployed Engineer

Responsibilities

• Work directly with health system stakeholders, clinicians, and IT teams to translate operational pain points into technical solution prototypes.
• Support client deployments from discovery through configuration, integration, validation, and go-live.
• Design and build healthcare-specific solutions using data pipelines, transformation logic, dashboards, and AI tools.
• Rapidly prototype and iterate on solutions based on feedback from frontline users and operational leaders.
• Partner with Product and Engineering teams to convert client needs into repeatable, scalable software capabilities.
• Manage structured and unstructured healthcare data to support mapping, workflow design, and integration planning.
• Communicate technical findings and business outcomes to both technical and non-technical audiences, including hospital executives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in technical consulting, solution engineering, data engineering, or software engineering.
• Proven ability to work directly with customers to solve complex operational problems.
• Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to travel up to 50% to embed with healthcare organizations across the U.S.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and operational conversations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare technology, provider operations, or health system environments.
• Familiarity with EHR vendors such as Epic, Oracle Health/Cerner, or athenahealth.
• Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards including HL7, FHIR, and APIs.
• Experience with hospital operations such as patient flow, bed management, or emergency departments.
• Understanding of HIPAA and other healthcare compliance frameworks.
• Experience with ontology-based data modeling or tools like Palantir Foundry.
