Forward Deployed Engineer (Robotics)

Responsibilities

• Integrate and deploy mimic’s AI models on customer robotic platforms and hardware stacks
• Adapt training, evaluation, and deployment pipelines to new robots, sensors, and manipulation tasks
• Work closely with customer AI and robotics teams to ensure successful technology adoption
• Diagnose model, data, perception, and robotics integration issues to drive rapid resolution
• Support customer deployments both on-site and remotely across various robotics applications
• Contribute to internal tooling, infrastructure, and codebases to improve scalability
• Define integration requirements, deployment architectures, and technical roadmaps with customers
• Track and communicate deployment KPIs such as task success rate, robustness, and latency

Requirements

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, AI, or a related technical field
• Experience deploying AI/ML systems in real-world environments
• Proficiency in Python and modern machine learning frameworks like PyTorch
• Hands-on robotics experience in perception, planning, controls, or manipulation
• Excellent communication skills for working directly with highly technical customers
• Fluent English
• Valid Driving License (B) and willingness to travel for customer deployments

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with modern robot learning (imitation learning, reinforcement learning, diffusion policies)
• Experience with ROS/ROS2, robot control systems, or simulation environments
• Experience integrating AI models with physical robotic hardware
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
