Forward Deployed Engineer

Responsibilities

• Deploy forward with aircraft and ground systems to test ranges, airfields, and customer environments
• Provide end-to-end field support including system setup, software/hardware configuration, and integration
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and networking issues in real time in unstructured environments
• Execute flight tests, demos, and exercises with high autonomy
• Train and guide operators and customers on system usage
• Capture flight data and operator feedback to provide recommendations to the engineering team
• Maintain documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures

Requirements

• 2+ years supporting, deploying, or operating real hardware systems in the field
• Strong hands-on troubleshooting across hardware, software, and networking
• Proficiency with command line, tools, cables, and configurations
• Ability to operate independently in ambiguous, high-pressure environments
• Strong communication skills to translate between engineers and customers
• Willingness to travel frequently to remote locations and test ranges for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications

• Military operations experience (JTAC, JFO, CCT, ATC, or aviation operations)
