Forward Deployed Engineer

About the Company

Fuse Finance is building an AI-native Loan Origination System (LOS) designed for automation. Backed by top-tier Series A investors with over $25M raised, we partner with US finance companies, credit unions, and banks to transform lending operations through intelligent automation.

Responsibilities

• Implement end-to-end full stack features including backend APIs and customer-facing dashboards
• Model and configure client lending domains such as underwriting rules, task flows, and debt adjustment rules
• Build and maintain client-specific automations orchestrating the loan lifecycle with third-party integrations
• Ship AI-powered features including LLM-based automations, classification pipelines, and agentic workflows
• Own features end-to-end from scoping and implementation to testing, deployment, and monitoring

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally in a full-stack role
• Proficiency with modern backend stacks (Node.js/TypeScript, Python, or Go) and REST/GraphQL APIs
• Solid frontend experience with React, TypeScript, and modern state management
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and data modeling for transactional systems
• Experience deploying services to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) with understanding of CI/CD and observability
• Hands-on experience integrating LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic) into production systems
• Practical knowledge of prompt engineering, tool/function calling, and RAG or agentic workflows
• Proficiency using AI-assisted development tools like Cursor, Claude Code, or Copilot
• Ability to work effectively in English within a distributed, asynchronous team

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in fintech, lending, or payments
• Familiarity with rule engines or workflow engines
• Experience with event-driven architectures and financial API integrations
• Exposure to LLM evaluation frameworks
