Forward Deployed Engineer, Enterprise

Responsibilities

• Work directly with enterprise customers to understand AI use cases, technical architecture, and deployment requirements
• Lead technical discovery and solution design during pre-sales and expansion conversations
• Scope, build, and deliver proofs of concept that demonstrate business and technical value
• Design and implement production-ready integrations including RAG pipelines and agent workflows
• Partner with customer engineering, data, product, and AI teams to move use cases from prototype to production
• Translate recurring customer needs and technical patterns into product roadmap input
• Create reusable enterprise assets such as reference architectures and integration templates
• Represent Tavily in customer architecture reviews and executive technical conversations

Requirements

• 3+ years of software engineering experience, ideally in a customer-facing technical role
• Strong hands-on engineering ability with Python, APIs, and backend systems
• Experience building with LLMs, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and agent architectures
• Experience working with enterprise customers through technical discovery and production rollouts
• Strong understanding of enterprise AI deployment, security, and scaling
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and executive stakeholders
• Ability to operate with high autonomy in a fast-moving startup environment
• Based in New York City or willing to relocate

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with orchestration frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, or LangGraph
• Experience with vector databases such as Pinecone, Weaviate, or Qdrant
• Experience with enterprise AI use cases in financial services, legal, or SaaS
• Track record of helping large customers move from POC to production
• Prior experience at a high-growth AI infrastructure or developer tools company
