Forward Deployed Engineer

About the Company

August is building the world's largest AI-native legal services company. We are rewriting how law firms scale by building agents that mimic legal reasoning, research, and drafting to make high-quality legal work accessible and affordable.

Responsibilities

• Own deployments end-to-end: architect, build, and ship August into production at law firms
• Build integrations including adapters, webhooks, and APIs for systems like iManage, NetDocs, SharePoint, Outlook, and Word
• Implement SSO/SAML/OIDC, tenant isolation, and enterprise-scale ingestion pipelines
• Turn one-off deployment work into scalable platform modules, SDKs, and internal tooling
• Debug live production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and ship fixes rapidly

Requirements

• 3+ years of production software engineering experience (full-stack or platform)
• Strong command of TypeScript/JavaScript (React/Next.js)
• Proficiency in at least one backend language, preferably Python
• Experience writing API clients, data transformation scripts, and lightweight services
• Ability to thrive in high-ownership, fast-moving, and ambiguous environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with enterprise-scale integrations and data pipelines
• Strong engineering instincts favoring observability and rapid shipping
