Forward Deployed Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery from technical scoping through implementation and production rollout within customer environments
• Ship production-quality software, including net-new features, standalone applications, and custom integrations
• Work side-by-side with customer engineering teams to debug complex issues and ensure successful outcomes
• Bridge the gap between customer needs and core product by building custom solutions and feeding requirements back to the product team
• Help define the FDE function in EMEA by codifying deployment patterns and building internal playbooks
• Travel regularly (25–40%) to customer sites across Germany and the EMEA region

Requirements

• 4+ years of software engineering experience with a strong track record of shipping production code
• Full-stack development skills across backend, API, and frontend layers
• Experience in customer-facing technical roles (e.g., FDE, embedded engineering, or deep technical consulting)
• Ability to operate autonomously and define paths forward in ambiguous environments
• Strong English communication skills for engaging with both engineers and senior stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in autonomy, robotics, simulation, or automotive software (ROS, C++, Python, etc.)
• Background building internal tools or custom applications within customer infrastructure
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience working at an early-stage team or within a forward-deployed engineering model
