Forward Deployed Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery from problem framing through architecture, implementation, and production rollout inside customer environments
• Ship production software including net-new features, standalone applications, and integrations solving real customer problems
• Work embedded with tier-1 automotive OEM and supplier engineering teams at their sites across EMEA
• Bridge product gaps by building custom solutions and feeding concrete requirements back to product and engineering
• Codify deployment patterns and build internal playbooks as a founding member of the EMEA FDE team
• Travel 25–40% on-site at customer locations across Germany and EMEA

Requirements

• 4+ years of software engineering experience with a track record of shipping production code
• Full-stack development skills across backend, API layer, and frontend
• Experience working directly with customers in high-stakes technical environments
• Ability to operate autonomously in ambiguous situations
• Strong English communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in autonomy, robotics, simulation, or automotive software (ROS, C++, Python, sensor pipelines)
• Experience at a company known for forward-deployed or embedded engineering models
• Background building internal tools or custom applications inside customer infrastructure
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Exposure to automotive certification or homologation processes
