Forklift Operator/Steel Loader

Responsibilities

• Load building materials and components onto flatbed trailers using standard and heavy-duty forklifts (specifically Hyster models)
• Inspect all material for damage prior to loading
• Ensure all parts are properly marked, accounted for, and staged for loading
• Perform pre-shift equipment inspections
• Maintain housekeeping and cleanliness of the loading area
• Uphold and lead company safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Proven experience loading steel products
• Ability to obtain or maintain forklift certification
• Ability to work flexible hours as needed, including different shifts
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy machinery other than standard warehouse forklifts
