Forklift Operator

Responsibilities

• Safely operate up to a 16k forklift to move and stack cargo, containers, and goods
• Assist in the loading and unloading of cargo from vessels, trucks, and rail cars
• Operate and maintain terminal equipment such as conveyors, door guns, and barge loader spouts
• Ensure cargo is properly secured and organized for transport or storage
• Monitor and communicate with barge drafters or crane operators
• Perform routine equipment checks and report malfunctions
• Maintain a clean and safe work area including docks and warehouses
• Assist with inventory tracking and reporting discrepancies
• Perform general labor tasks including cleaning product from pits and barge decks

Requirements

• Forklift certification is required
• Ability to operate up to a 16k forklift
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs unassisted and occasionally up to 75lbs
• Ability to climb ladders over 20’ using fall protection
• Physical stamina for bending, twisting, kneeling, and reaching
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain)
• Basic math and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• Previous experience in a warehouse, dock, or terminal environment
