Forklift Diesel Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Operate and inspect machines and heavy equipment to diagnose defects
• Perform routine maintenance including cleaning, lubrication, and servicing
• Overhaul, dismantle, and reassemble heavy equipment and sub-assemblies
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical and hydraulic systems
• Repair or replace damaged or worn parts
• Read and interpret manuals, schematics, and technical drawings
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify faults and determine necessary repairs
• Maintain parts inventory, service records, and equipment uptime schedules
• Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality standards

Requirements

• Qualified Diesel Mechanic with relevant trade certification
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a maintenance environment
• Strong technical knowledge of plant and heavy equipment
• Experience with hydraulic and basic electrical fault-finding

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in heavy industrial or cement environments
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
• Ability to work independently and under pressure
• Strong safety awareness and compliance mindset

Benefits

• Salary: R20,000 – R25,000 CTC per month (based on experience)
• Permanent position
