Forklift Attendant

Responsibilities

• Operate material handling equipment including lift trucks, pallet jacks, and electric battery handling equipment safely and efficiently
• Perform safe loading and unloading of trailers according to internal and external requirements
• Manage the safe handling and storage of chemicals, liquid ingredients, and dry materials following strict safety and spill prevention procedures
• Execute accurate data entry into the ERP (SAP) system
• Stage batch ingredients and materials to ensure continuous production line operations
• Conduct pre and post-usage inspections of materials and equipment to ensure they meet specifications
• Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory control practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Maintain department housekeeping and comply with all GMP, Food Safety, and occupational health and safety regulations

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years of work experience in food manufacturing (dairy experience preferred)
• Ability to obtain lift truck certification (Class I-V) per OSHA regulations
• Valid driver’s license and ability to safely drive a company vehicle
• Strong math skills and technical ability to operate equipment controls
• Ability to work the night shift (6 PM - 6 AM)
• Physical ability to lift 45 lbs frequently and 50+ lbs with assistance
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced quality or food safety training and/or certifications
• Working understanding of food manufacturing acronyms such as SQF, HACCP, SOP, 5S, and GMP
