About the role
Responsibilities
- Determine boundary and road layout for future harvesting
- Assess riparian features and traverse locations for map creation
- Perform crossing and site plan data collection
- Identify ecology types, stratification, and logging hazards
- Complete road engineering estimates and appraisal data field surveys
- Conduct timber reconnaissance and assist timber cruisers with data collection
- Engage in remote camping and wilderness exploration
- Perform job duties in physically strenuous and varying terrains
Requirements
- 1 year of forestry-related experience
- Valid B.C. Class 5 Driver's License (or equivalent) and a current Driver’s Abstract
- Proficiency using GPS, Avenza, and other mapping programs
- Ability to work away from home for scheduled periods
- Ability to work in physically strenuous environments
- Safety-conscious attitude and dependability in the field
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in natural resources, forestry, or a related field
- Experience operating ATVs and pick-up trucks on various road conditions
- Valid BC Intermediate or Advanced First Aid certification
- Experience working with chainsaws

- Pay rate of $255 - $275 per day (paid hourly)
