Forestry Journeyman

Responsibilities

• Support the execution of an annual vegetation management plan
• Supervise forestry team members in the absence of leadership
• Perform vegetation management including spraying, tree trimming, and brush cutting
• Operate power-driven machinery such as chainsaws, chippers, and mowers
• Prune trees to eliminate hazards and preserve health
• Apply herbicides in accordance with applicable rules and statutes
• Maintain specialized tools and equipment
• Participate in safety meetings and continued education

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum 4,000 hours of experience in forestry or vegetation management
• Current Class A CDL license
• Journeyman Card
• Proficiency and competency to climb
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds
• Ability to work in close proximity to energized high voltage lines
