About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform specialized psychological testing and assessments to arrive at accurate DSM IV diagnoses
  • Provide crisis intervention, individual and group psychotherapy, and psycho-education programming
  • Develop achievable psychosocial treatment plans in collaboration with inmates and Department of Corrections staff
  • Manage caseload demands effectively while balancing quality of care with correctional security needs
  • Assume overall case management responsibilities, including treatment coordination and liaison with community agencies
  • Maintain accurate and appropriate inmate records

Requirements

  • Ph.D., Psy.D., or Ed.D. in Psychology
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in behavioral health or a related setting (including graduate training)
  • Licensed Psychologist in the State of New Jersey (or an unrestricted permit to practice)
  • Valid Driver's License and possession of a personal vehicle for travel between sites
  • Ability to be approved by the Department of Corrections (DOC) and adhere to all DOC requirements
