Foreman - Civil Utilities

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead teams in the construction and maintenance of shallow underground utilities
• Lead and mentor field crews, including conducting HSE activities and toolbox meetings
• Supervise pipe layers, labourers, and equipment operators
• Act as the primary liaison between the crew and the Superintendent
• Plan and schedule daily construction activities to ensure safe and efficient operations
• Read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and project documents
• Maintain accurate records of work and maintenance activities
• Provide direction in setting up, installing, and commissioning equipment

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of construction experience
• 3 or more years of direct crew supervision experience as a Foreman or Team Lead
• Previous experience working in shallow or deep utilities
• CSTS and Level 2 Ground disturbance certifications
• Clean Class 3 Driver’s License and abstract
• Ability to work independently and travel to various project sites
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and mobile device applications
• Physical ability to move safely throughout active construction sites

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as an equipment operator (excavating and lifting equipment)
• Experience in traffic signals and street light construction/installation
• Leadership for Safety Excellence certification
