About the role
Responsibilities
- Evaluate risks posed by foreign investment in the telecommunications and information technology sectors to support U.S. Department of Defense missions.
- Coordinate with internal DoD stakeholders and DOJ/DHS counterparts to conduct timely technical reviews.
- Develop risk-based analyses in support of the DoD CIO’s role on the Committee for the Assessment of Foreign Participation in the United States Telecommunications Services Sector (Team Telecom).
- Review and understand cyber risks and policy to provide actionable recommendations.
- Conduct open-source research on companies to support risk assessment processes.
- Write succinct reports and brief senior executives and leadership on findings.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or similar).
- 5+ years of relevant experience (or a Master's degree with 9+ years of relevant experience).
- Active Top Secret SCI security clearance.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Proven experience in risk analysis (national security, commercial, or financial).
- Strong research, critical thinking, and technical writing skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Team Telecom or CFIUS case management processes.
- Experience analyzing national security risks of foreign direct investment in the United States.
- Experience with risk mitigation term development.
- Exposure to Systems Engineering concepts and methodologies.
- Experience with intra-agency and interagency coordination.
