Rothy’s is a sustainable footwear and accessories brand that transforms single-use plastic bottles and ocean-bound marine plastic into signature thread. We combine 3D knitting technology and handcrafted assembly to create machine washable, zero-waste essentials.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Product Design, Merchandising, and factory partners to develop footwear from concept through commercialization
• Evaluate bottoms, components, upper patterns, knitting, materials, and constructions for fit, performance, durability, and manufacturing feasibility
• Provide technical input to identify potential risks and propose alternative solutions early in the development process
• Analyze cost differences across prototypes and sample stages, reviewing CBDs, yields, and material usage to achieve margin goals
• Partner with integrity and quality teams to support fit consistency, comfort, and performance
• Participate in all sample reviews including prototype, development, fit, confirmation, and TOP
• Maintain proactive communication with factory and vendor partners to ensure on-time delivery

Requirements

• 4–6 years of footwear product development and/or production experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Product Development, Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related technical field
• Working knowledge of footwear construction, materials, components, costing, testing, and manufacturing processes
• Experience working with Asia-based factories or vendors
• Proficiency with PLM and Google Workspace; Adobe Illustrator experience is a plus
• Ability to travel domestically (1–3 times per year) and internationally (quarterly)
