About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and execute high-quality nutrition programming for WSU football student-athletes to promote performance, health, and well-being.
  • Conduct individual performance nutrition and medical nutrition therapy consultations.
  • Provide research-supported nutrition education via team talks and staff presentations.
  • Perform field analysis, including sweat testing and body composition analysis.
  • Oversee nutrition services for training sessions, practices, and competitions (home, away, and postseason).
  • Manage fueling setups (pre, intra, and post), menu development, and catering coordination.
  • Supervise football nutrition facilities and hourly staff.
  • Serve as the primary nutrition contact for football coaches and support staff.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Dietetics, Foods and Nutrition, or Food Service Administration from an accredited program.
  • Current Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an RDN in Division I collegiate, professional sports, or tactical performance nutrition.
  • Ability to obtain Washington State Dietitian Certification within 2 months of hire.
  • Ability to sit for the Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD) exam within 3 months of hire.
  • Ability to travel with the team and work nights and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year of experience specifically within a Division I or Professional football performance nutrition program.
  • Current Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD) credential.
  • Experience using Electronic Medical/Health Records Systems or the Teamworks platform.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully with diverse student-athlete populations and staff.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
