Food Technologist

Responsibilities

• Apply scientific and engineering principles to research, develop, and implement new food products, packaging, and processing technologies.
• Use knowledge of manufacturing systems and production lines to test and develop new products.
• Manage assigned customer accounts and projects in coordination with sales and marketing to fulfill product requests and improvements.
• Design and develop product profiles, formulations, and testing schedules based on customer requirements and manufacturing capabilities.
• Implement new products at the plant level following good manufacturing practices and company guidelines.
• Coordinate trial productions, run tests, and prepare samples for internal and external customers.
• Conduct shelf-life studies and evaluate product and package performance under various conditions.
• Provide technical assistance, training, and documentation to customers and internal personnel.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Food Science or a related field plus 1 year of R&D experience in the baking or cereal industry, OR a Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or Biology plus 3 years of R&D experience in the baking or cereal industry.
• Knowledge of commodities economics and cost evaluation.
• Proven ability to plan and execute experimental designs to achieve research objectives.
• Strong technical writing and computer skills.
• Experience with project management and the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work independently and manage customer expectations.
• Must be authorized to work in the US; visa sponsorship is not offered.
