Food Technician

Responsibilities

• Assist and advise teaching staff on the preparation and layout of teaching areas for practical exercises
• Prepare ingredients and ensure equipment and materials meet teachers' specifications
• Advise students and staff on the safe and proper use of equipment and learning activities
• Assist in the safety, inspection, repair, and general maintenance of all resources and tools
• Manage stock levels and assist with ordering supplies
• Undertake safety checks and risk assessments in compliance with Health and Safety regulations
• Maintain high standards of hygiene through the safe disposal of waste and regular cleaning of equipment
• Work collaboratively with other technical staff to keep learning areas neat, tidy, and safe

Requirements

• Qualifications to A Level or equivalent
• Basic knowledge of Health and Safety regulations
• Experience working with a range of Food Technology equipment and resources
• Experience or a solid understanding of working as a technician in a school or educational establishment
